Summary: this report shares predictions of new scientific ideas over the long-term future, including new concepts, new hypotheses, new theories, etc., obtained through ideometric calculations based on existing scientific ideas. The new ideas will be shown in small caps. The various topics addressed will subsequently be further developed. This article follows on from « Introduction to ideometric mathematics » (Agorathèque, Jan 29. 2017).

I              The way of life in centuries to come

PREDICTION: TOTAL FOOD FREEDOM: It is likely that we will be able to eat and drink anything that we want and enjoy the taste of it, including the finest wines, alcohol and liquors, all with the same flavors, consistencies and textures of gourmet food, but without any actual alcohol, and metabolizing nothing more than what the body needs to be properly nourished and healthy, at the same time conforming, if we wish, to the strictest vegetarian diet that takes its nutritional value and authentic flavors from science.

The ideas involved: We must await the coming centuries for food experiments and scientific discoveries regarding flavors and nutritional value, stimulated by the hedonistic consumption of billions of people increasingly sensitive to the suffering of animals bred for food. This conditional prediction, which presupposes sufficient technological progress, is based on the ideometric model of the child, which allows us to establish the huge technological immaturity of humanity today. Future developments will therefore be spread over a long period of time.

Reminder: The model of the child is based on the scientific ideas of the development of an 18-month old child, as this is the age at which they acquire their capacity for language. This child corresponds, in terms of ideas, with the humanity of today. Cf. Introduction to ideometric mathematics.

 

PREDICTIONS: THE PROSTHETIC HUMAN BODY: It is likely that the human body will tend to become prosthetic and robotic, i.e. consisting mainly of prostheses that have become essential to be healthy in the context of overall human development.

Ultimately, the solution to any body-related problem will be found in the concept of a TOTAL PROSTHESIS in place of the body, with the exception of a part of the brain and nervous system, offering total perception (the usual senses strengthened in addition to other kinds of senses yet to be conceived).

Details: This prediction does not make the first prediction unnecessary, but it explicates one of the most powerful means of realizing it, namely to modify the perceptual system itself rather than the taste of food.

The child’s growing body and humanity correspond through the actions of the dendrites and the axons of the child’s neurons, on the one hand and, on the other, through the communication capabilities of human beings today, in particular the Internet. As complete structures (in this case, neuron and human being), the inputs and outputs of information form invariant structures by ideomorphism (indicated by the  » =>> » arrows).

As the prostheses are artificial, they correspond ideometrically to biological constructions, just like the dendrites and the axon of the neuron. Total prosthesis, with the exception of a part of the brain, corresponds to the neuron itself with the exception of a part of the nucleus that would then coincide with the DNA of the cell.

 

II      The human condition in centuries to come

PREDICTION: THE FUTURE OF HUMAN OCCUPATIONS: We can predict a prosperous future for occupations such as researchers, teachers, educators at all levels, certain businesses and professions such as communicators, actors, performers, creators of all kinds.

Details: The corresponding cells in the human being are, above all, the neurons, which correspond to researchers through their ability to receive information (« discovery » of a perceived object). The neurons yet to appear in the case of the child will be the active, living cells in its brain. Teachers correspond to the spinal cord because they transmit the impulse between the soma and the brain. Artists and authors correspond to the neurons that generate fictitious perceptions (dreamlike or other), while researchers correspond to conscious perceptions.

 

PREDICTION INVOLVED: The science around the development of the nervous system will be enriched by new understanding of the functions of sleep and dreaming.

PREDICTION: LIFE IN AND THROUGH SOCIAL NETWORKS will become predominant: For the first time in history, each and everyone will be able to speak to the entire world and for posterity; each person will communicate using a choice of messages, photos, videos, general information about themselves and what they think and do. Their descendants will nurture their memory and will be inspired by it for years to come.

Details: Myelinization of nerve fibers involves the formation of a protective sheath around them which, amongst other things, increases the speed of the impulse and allows the various neurons to form a single cerebral entity. Memories will be saved in the component parts of the child’s memory, in the form of a story of what’s happened in their own development and the way in which they’ve experienced the different stages. A memory will thus be created which will endure over time.

N.B.: The predictions that precede and several of those that follow will be expressed in the future tense, which must be understood as resulting from a calculation of ideas. Since we are using the ideometric model of the child, what is predicted for humanity will correspond to the analogy of what is predicted for a young child by someone they know well, such as: « you’ll grow up », « you’ll be able to… » or « you might think, feel… », which will equate to « usually, probably you will… grow », etc.

N.B.: The ideas in the calculation Table C and subsequent tables will be paraphrased, as the exact words are still lacking. This is a compromise between rigor and accessibility to the greatest number of readers.

 

PREDICTION: OUR INDIVIDUAL LIVES AND THOSE OF OUR DESCENDANTS WILL HAVE MEANING. Our most intense expressions will outlive us in countless memories. Even our mistakes and our failures will be indicative of our efforts. Far from being the end of all our plans, death will become an appreciation of our reasons for living and for what drove our ongoing struggles, in particular in terms of what will affect progressivism in the long term.

The idea involved: The child will remember their successes and triumphs, and difficulties overcome or not during the course of their development, what motivated them, and will thus build an identity. The neurons that will disappear will have played an essential role, having helped to realize the child’s choices and the whole of their personal development.

Details: We are talking about long-term memory here. Our ongoing and progressive struggles will remain issues of humanity itself and will thus correspond to memories that humanity will retain of its mistakes and its successful developments; they will form its identity.

 

PREDICTION: REFERENTIAL IMMORTALITY: Everywhere we will celebrate people’s most valuable creations, including their offspring, but also their contributions to the arts or crafts or other ways to create, and their potential to inspire future generations, even in the distant future. Their genealogy will live on and their works, whether family-related, aesthetic or intellectual, will outlive their biological and prosthetic bodies. People will be recognized through their descendants, their works and the direct and indirect outcomes of their work. REFERENTIAL LIFE will be recognized as real life, as the life of a recognized work and its author.

Table D

The referential person (last column of table D) is this type of real person who is the recognized author of a work that subsequently constitutes a reference. The person only dies with their work; they are thus deemed immortal.

Details: Having become more sensitive to the difficulties of life, we will no longer fear our biological death as much as before, because it feels like the end of our daily worries, unfortunate accidents, the decline of old age, ordinary states of mind (desire, jealousy, hatred, insufficiently offset by often empty pleasures, etc.), its ephemeral joys.

THE FUTURE OF RELIGION

PREDICTION: The differences between the sacred texts, rather than being a source of discord, will be seen as opportunities for doctrinal enrichment, to be achieved through self-criticism and criticism made with respect for others and particularly the generalized ETHOCENTRISM of relationships between peoples. The texts will be interpreted in such a way as to make them mutually compatible.

N.B.: The term ethocentrism means that there is a tendency to consider one’s own moral culture (nation, ethnicity, faith, etc.) superior to others, independently of their qualitative characteristics, such as economic power or artistic productions. It must therefore be distinguished from ethnocentrism, which consists notably of finding one’s own culture superior to that of others on account of its qualities. Ethocentrism can also be described as an attitude of considering the morality of one’s group as the only valid morality.

PREDICTION: The Dominican Antonin-Marcel Henry described modern-day Catholic missionary work as follows: « The modern mission is not unilateral education, but an endeavor toward « mutual conversion […] for both Christians and their interlocutors » (2011).  The idea of MUTUAL CONVERSION with respect will emerge as a new idea in the ethics of relationships between peoples.

PREDICTION: Under certain <normally> occurring conditions, the expansion of Islam in the world will be a good thing not only for Muslims but also for the whole of humanity. Islam will prove to be inherently respectful of the person and their identity group.

Toward self-respect The normal development of the child who acquires language results in the development of a self-image that the child will see as an example of respect for other people. =>> It will be <normal>, within the <divine> sense of this term, for Muslims to evolve toward the mutual respect of other groups. N.B.: The < > symbols, when used, indicate that emphasis is placed on a future scientific idea, one which is not yet recognized by current science. Thus, the word <normal> indicates a kind of normality in itself, knowledge of which is not yet within our reach.

PREDICTION: We want to become « Muslim » in terms of fervor, quality and idea, if not in terms of belonging to a community. We can even say, in this regard, that we will be followers of Pan-Islamism, an ETHICAL PAN-ISLAMISM, and that everyone should do the same.

PREDICTION: We can say we are Muslim in principle, Christian too, and, for similar reasons, Buddhist, Hindu, etc. all while maintaining our own identity in a specific group. This will be the GREAT CONVERGENCE OF RELIGIONS, a convergence based on principle rather than membership.

Ideas: The child will gain self-respect for the various facets of their character and will thus find themselves in relationships with others.

IDEOMETRY, THE POPULARIZATION OF SCIENCE AND THE REVOLUTION OF KNOWLEDGE

PREDICTION: THE ACCESSIBILITY OF ALL TO THE WHOLE OF KNOWLEDGE: Specialized knowledge will become accessible to all through the dissemination of popularized encyclopedic versions ranging from the most elementary to the most advanced, and this in various languages.

The ideas involved (Table I):

Prediction: We will talk of the REVOLUTION OF PROFESSIONAL AMATEURS, who will occupy the center of knowledge. There will be a crisis within the competent authority, and the most fruitful research activities will shift, generating a new reference structure.

Details: The acquisition of language will allow the child to begin to better understand the things and beings around or in them, and to better understand themselves. Often, a very simple verbal explanation from a maternal figure will cause a profound change in their awareness of what is real or true.

 

PREDICTION: Specialized knowledge will be criticized as being restricted, incompatible with the understanding of the real as it exists.

PREDICTION: Specialized knowledge will serve simply as useful, technical knowledge on an aspect of the real and its applications.

The ideas involved:

The child will continue to use their senses in a particular way. For example, they will recognize the sound of their mother approaching, without believing that her reality is reduced to the dimension of sound.

 

PREDICTION: INTELLECTUAL EXCLUSION will be viewed as the worst form of exclusion because it will entail all other social exclusions with assumed prejudices that no longer stand up to examination, whether these relate to racial or ethnic differences, sexual differences or sexual orientation, etc.

DOES ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE THREATEN HUMAN LIBERTY?

PREDICTION: CONTROLLED AUTONOMY , as opposed to OWN GLOBAL AUTONOMY: Machines (automata, engines, tools, etc.) will be widespread and active in all spheres of human activity and the more autonomous they are, the more profitable they will be considered. We will, however, be alert to the risk represented by the grip of machines that have become too efficient on the individual or group autonomy of human beings. Nevertheless, as the ideometric model of the child shows, we will not <normally> have to fear such a possibility

PREDICTION: A possible malfunction of the human world may equally occur due to technology or to rebel humans using machines.

Organic malfunction of information systems The child could suffer from a degenerative illness, for example of the nervous system or the muscles, or both at once. =>> In this case, we will be able to make a connection of ideas with rebel groups in society, or even with a severely defective computer system, or both together.

PREDICTION: THE PRINCIPLE OF NORMALITY: Individual improvements foreseeable over the long term, for example, different kinds of prostheses, will be acceptable if they are reflected in a <globally valid> collective development, which we cannot consider now, on a historical scale, due to lack of experience and insufficient competence. Such a situation will be highly paradoxical. The link between the individual and society by means of the model of the child will play a key role, if not to evaluate the actual normality of the improvement, at least to observe the existence of a meaning.

The ideas involved: The demands of the child in terms of treats, toys, sport, etc. will be acceptable if this helps, or at least does not damage, the normal development of their person in society. The child cannot judge this themselves, being immature, which they must, paradoxically, accept autonomously, meaning, by way of an appropriate discussion between adult and child based on analogies.

 

III          The future of scientific research

PREDICTION: IDEOMETRY will be recognized as a very particular kind of language specifically adapted to the scientific research of the future.

The idea involved: the model of the child is first of all a model for the <child> that we are super-collectively. The child will henceforth be conscious of the world around them through language, that is, the names of things and people, and all the words that describe and explain what they are.

 

PREDICTION: A SCIENTIFIC PERSPECTIVE: The sciences relating to the development of the child will become the most important areas of research in the coming centuries. The model of the child will notably form the basis of scientific perspective and of all the most significant research projects.

The ideas involved:

The child who acquires language will use this more and more to know and understand everything that is happening around them; their entire awareness of their relation to the world and of themselves will be transformed.
=>>
Humanity in centuries to come will use ideometry and, in particular, the model of the child, to better understand mathematics and the whole concept of « the real »; the whole scientific domain will be profoundly changed.

N.B. This table shows an easier to use arrangement of part of the same type of table as those used above, the ideomorphism reading from top to bottom instead of left to right.

Details: Ideometry will enable the updating of structures of scientific ideas, a large number of which are not yet known, in terms of both child sciences and other sciences. However, any new idea elucidated on the development of the child will allow corresponding ideas to be developed immediately in other sciences.

PREDICTION: A NEW MOTIVATION FOR THE LONG-TERM FUTURE: As with the child, the fact of being able to learn about their future does not content them just to wait for it to happen. On the contrary, this will generates ideas and a new motivation to use their faculties further to discover their potential. Similarly, humanity will be able to prepare to act and strive to be worthy of its future. The ideas involved:

The child is motivated by its use of language to ask questions, to actively seek out the possibilities for use of such and such an object, or of the things that they find, etc.

Ideometry will allow all researchers to question the model of the child — which will come back to questioning in some way the <parents> themselves! — on all that humanity will be able to learn and discover in the long future of diverse experiences that will become available to it.

Details: The fact of knowing long in advance the meaning and importance of certain research will motivate universities and research centers as never before. Ideometry allows us to know of many scientific concepts and objects in advance, but will not replace specific experiments.

PREDICTION: THE IDEOMETRIC MODEL OF THE CHILD: The model of the child will also be the model for the child, i.e. for the current child-humanity, which will become able to use ideometry and articulate scientific ideas to better know and understand, and which has a unique method for learning and advancing in its scientific, philosophical and ethical development.

The ideas involved:

The development of the child during the first years of their life

The birth of the child  =>> The entry of humanity into modernity
The life of the child before and after birth, followed by the intellectual and language development of the child

Past human world, ancient and medieval, then the modern world, followed by the era of communications and ideometric advances in humanity

The model of the child is therefore a MODEL FOR THE CHILD, which corresponds ideometrically to the simple and expressive language that adults use to ensure that children understand them better.

Details: The sudden surplus of autonomy amongst modern humanity through its science and its technologies, compared to those of the past, corresponds to the sudden increase in autonomy of the new-born that becomes capable of breathing for itself, making full use of its own bodily resources.

 

PREDICTION: THE RAPID DISCOVERY OF IDEOMETRY:

The speed and efficiency with which a child acquires language will be better understood by the fact that we have so rapidly discovered ideometry and its amazing efficiency.

PREDICTION: The way in which a child acquires language will impact scientific research in general and ideometric research in particular, given the VERSATILITY OF THE MODEL OF THE CHILD in its applications to science.

PREDICTION: The way in which ideometry was discovered (between 1984 and 2013) will inspire researchers in linguistics and neurology investigating the major problem of the early, rapid and spontaneous acquisition of the ability to speak.

N.B.: How? Here are a few details. In 1984-1985, research into the ideas of the past, particularly those likely to provide the reasons for the referential importance of the Pre-Socratics, Plato, Aristotle,… Kant, Hegel, … Nietzsche… Correlation tables of ideas between eras, from Ancient Greece to Classical Greece, the Enlightenment, modern times… In 1995-96, discovery of the ideometric model of the child; in 1997-98, publication of the book The Mind of Society… and two articles on this subject…, and then several other books and articles in the years 2000-2013…

 

PREDICTION: One of the most remarkable characteristics of the general situation of the child will be that they will not so much have to adapt to the environment as profit from an environment already planned for them. Indeed, the environment will be to some extent organized, even programmed, to ensure the protection and normal development of a young child before and after birth.

This will correspond point by point to the pre-modern and modern mathematical research situations: everything will happen as though mathematics and the physical universe were intrinsically adapted to each other. PREDICTION: However, the child will be exposed to the risk of infectious and genetic diseases…, serious physical injury, falls, burns… throughout the course of their life. =>>

There will always be risks of climate change. They may, for example, consist of critical points beyond which sudden changes will occur that will affect a region of the world, and will be irreversible for thousands of years afterward. The human of the future will be concerned by possible « break points » or even « critical threshold points », which will never be fully anticipated or eliminated. They will go hand in hand with climatic disasters of an unimaginable scale.

 

THE GREAT SUPER-COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS OF HUMANITY

PREDICTION: THE SELF-AWAKENING OF A SUPER CONSCIOUSNESS

Humanity will be understood as having a super-consciousness, as impossible to reduce to the individual consciousness of human beings as it is to reduce individual consciousness down to the various neurons of the individual brain.

Details: It will be seen that the super consciousness of humanity will equate, in part, to science as developed in history and at the present time, and will have to develop further far into the future.

N.B.: The word « awakening » is better applied first to the modernity of science than to the ideometric contribution to the super consciousness, which will be best described by the expression « self-awakening » of humanity.

 

PREDICTIONS: a) There will be a link between the individual identities of researchers and the identity that can be designated as humanity as a major rational topic, or major scientific topic in the making. b) In fact, a GREAT SELF-REFERENTIAL BODY will be defined, the GSB, which will comprise all documents existing at a given time and which will likely serve as a reference for any research text. The GSB is the complete set of all articles in specialist journals, in addition to all monographs, essentially all documents which, at a given time, have been published and which can serve as a reference for any purpose whatsoever (cf. Le Dieu imparfait. The ideas involved: the super-collective consciousness of humanity corresponds to the consciousness of the child, a) in which there is a distinction between the activity of neurons and the activity of the child itself who is developing mentally; b) the GSB will correspond to the nervous system of the child, its neurons with their dendritic and axonal extensions.

Details: There can be no direct exchange of dialog between a human being and the great super-collective consciousness, given the difference between the normal temporality of a human individual, which is that of perceptual consciousness, and the temporality of humanity overall, which is that of publishing.

N.B.: This will take nothing away from the reality of habitual exchange — which is of long temporality — between the referential people themselves that make up the super consciousness. This exchange is made up mainly of reinterpretations and criticisms, as for example between the works of Plato and the writings of critical commentators or modern-day followers of Plato, or the thoughts of Machiavelli, Husserl or Dewey…

Science will coincide, through connections, with what the child believes to be true and real, works of fiction coinciding with what the child imagines and with what they dream about (imaginary: art, literature, expectation, …; dream: novels or films).

The most important events will correspond to the living consciousness of the child; secondary events, local news and gossip will correspond to the marginal consciousness that the child has of the details of their environment.

The actual events in the socio-historic temporality will, for their part, correspond to the effective consciousness of the child, which is part of its living consciousness.

The actual events and the effective consciousness will be the concepts where the problem of reducing the wave packet in quantum mechanics is encountered: effective scientific observation, with its long temporality, corresponding to the particular observation of the person who makes an observation.

 

PREDICTION: IDEOMETRY AS THE SUPER LANGUAGE of the super consciousness

It will be seen that connections and sequences of ideas, which may straddle several sciences at a time, will convey a meaning and form an IRREDUCIBLE SUPER-THOUGHT for individual consciousnesses regarding what is real beyond the visions without unity of modern science.

The idea: The child discovers language as a source of information that is not reduced to sensory perceptions. They can begin to develop human-type thinking.

 

PREDICTION: We will explain the concept of an irreducible super-thought through this type of example: Any IDEOMETRIC SEQUENCE will constitute an example of irreducible super-thought. For example, the sequence of complete structures:

atom =>> cell =>> human being

Three separate levels of an increasingly encompassing complexity succeed each other, as well as three types of evolution, three types of research, equally as fundamental at each level, with equally fundamental questions at each level… This simple fact will not have been explainable by physics, biology or by the human or social sciences. This set of ideomorphisms (which is equivalent to a super-question concerning humanity as a complete structure, which is the response to this sequence) will be viewed as an obstacle in the path of our contemporary conception of science. This problem will be of the utmost interest to the science of the future.

 

PREDICTION: Human beings have been understood as fully living because they have had to conform to the needs of their own biological constitution. In addition, being entirely made up of atoms, human beings will have been fully understood as material entities. It is this which gives rise to the belief, while remaining consistent with the above, that God, or the divinity, is a THEOTIC ENTITY (from the Greek theoi, gods) BOTH FULLY MATERIAL, FULLY LIVING AND FULLY HUMAN. The term « human » however is not used in the sense of belonging to the human species, but in terms of demonstrating a NOETIC COMPLEXITY, RELATIVE TO THE INTELLECT. Humanity will therefore understand that the divinity does not constitute a higher being than itself.

The idea involved: The child will understand that adults are not in themselves superior beings; the perfect adult, all-powerful, all-knowing, does not exist; the child will see that they feel tiredness, pain, weakness, that they have accidents and they make mistakes. The child will already have experienced something of this and will be aware of it.

 

IV     Betting on a new humanism

PREDICTION: Ideometric calculation will, amongst other things, allow us to discover certain new concepts in areas of socio-political research. Below are some examples of likely predictions of such concepts.

PREDICTION: Not immediately searching for « the » correct theory of true and false, of good and evil, will assist in progressing toward better answers because we will then be part of a LONG-TERM COLLECTIVE ETHICAL AND SCIENTIFIC PROJECT.

The idea involved: A mother tries to explain to a child why some things that they don’t like are good for them, and some that they do like are bad for them. She thinks that the child is unable to understand the reasons at present, but should follow them all the same.

PREDICTION: According to the model of the child, human faculties, individual, collective or super-collective, are incomplete and will remain so for several centuries. We need a new humanism, still incomprehensible, a HUMANISM OF THE RISK OF BEING AND EVOLVING TOWARD AN UNKNOWABLE STATE. In this sense, even heads of state and their agents will have been ethical minors, just like religious leaders and professional ethicists.

The ideas involved: through language, the child will learn that the why and the how of their development are beyond their comprehension. They will be asked to commit to a project that will allow them to fully flourish.

 

PREDICTION: BETTING ON MEANING (the word « to bet » used in the sense of having reason to believe): Believing in messages or meanings delivered through ideometry will constitute a kind of bet on the future of our current science. This will go further than simply betting on the future of technology because it will follow the deepest meaning that can be derived.

Details: Such a bet will long be denied or refused by many. The famous refusal of Ivan Karamazov « I … give back my … ticket » (Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov: « What good can hell do, since those children have already been tortured?  … It’s not God that I don’t accept … only I most respectfully return him the ticket. »

The parallel with the child who says no constitutes the expression in theotic language of « no »; we don’t care about questions of maturity: all we want is to express a refusal.

The child discovers the incredible power of this small word, but it is little more than a normal phase of their development, what the child experiences depending on the parental reaction, almost acquiescing, maybe smiling, but not through simple irony…

Details: The bet means also having reason to believe in the falsehood of solipsism, regardless of the degree of solitude and decentralization; I am my only present moment; there is only my own person in the end; other people exist, but not gods…. The reasons will, among others, be those of the ethics of respect, thus of recognition. The child normally does this to other people, at least those who are close to them. Otherwise, it will be considered to have been achieved mentally. The most rational approach in this regard remains without doubt the bet. In any event, for reasons of well-being, I will act and behave as if others actually existed. As regards belief itself, I can choose not to believe in it absolutely.
